EXPERIENCE, RESPONSIBILITIES AND CONTRIBUTIONS
Mayor and Commissioner of Police, Village of
Ossining, NY – 2007 to 2014 (previously, Trustee of the Village of Ossining, NY
– 2005 to 2006). Official head of
a village of 25,000 residents in Westchester County, NY, I developed
philosophy, priorities, and policy, and presided over all meetings of the Board
of Trustees, which has fiduciary responsibility and the power and authority to
make, publish, alter, modify, amend, and repeal rules, resolutions,
regulations, local laws, and by-laws, and sat ex officio on all committees of
the Board. I chaired the Board of Commissioners of Police and was a marriage
officer.
Major Accomplishments

President, Westchester Municipal Officials
Association – 2013 to 2014. The
Westchester Municipal Officials Association (WMOA) is an organization of, and
for the 45 cities, villages and towns in Westchester County, NY. Since 1938,
WMOA has united local government officials in an active countywide network. The
WMOA provides a forum for its member municipalities to study issues of mutual
concern and to take action on such issues that will
have a beneficial effect upon the public safety, health and welfare of its
members’ citizenry. WMOA attempts to influence the Governor, the County Executive and the Legislatures on behalf of the municipalities.

Secretary-Treasurer,
Historic Hudson River Towns – 2008 to 2014. HHRT
is a consortium of municipalities located along New York’s Hudson River, from
Yonkers to Albany, organized under an Inter-municipal Agreement (IMA) with
501(c)3 not-for-profit, tax-exempt status. As well as co-applying for NYS
grants and hosting a joint tourism and event/activities website, HHRT is
spearheading the effort to build the Historic Sing Sing
Prison Museum.

Northern Westchester Energy Action Consortium (now Sustainable Westchester) –
2010 to 2014. NWEAC addresses issues of common interest and explores
opportunities for mutual benefit around regional solutions for energy
efficiency and conservation programs, renewable energy use, waste management
including organic waste
, transportation efficiency and effectiveness,
sustainable food programs, and
smart grid implementation.

Ossining Communities That Care – 2008 to 2014. OCTC is a coalition of individuals and organizations working together to
reduce the use of alcohol and drugs and prevent underage drinking in our
community, educate Ossining youth and parents, create awareness of the risks
and problems that arise from substance abuse, and offer resources that draw our
residents into the prevent/intervene/treat/recover spectrum, providing education,
seminars, training programs, workshops, and media campaigns, and support
services.

Prison Communities Inc.: Rehabilitation Through the Arts – 2008 to 2016. RTA works in five New York State prisons with innovative programs in
theatre, dance, creative writing, voice and visual art
and is dedicated to using the creative arts as a tool for social and cognitive
transformation behind prison walls.
